Ai, I love you forever for making this. Name: Aurora Gender: Female Age: 17 Race: Elven Basic Class: Magi/Healer Alignment: Neutral Good Description: Equipment: She wears an enchanted gown, stitched with golden threads, made of light material that is surprisingly weather-resistant. Aurora also carries a staff made of crystal, which was given to her by her father when she reached the top of her class at the magic school. Spells: Kiss of Life - Restores a bit of health for all allies. Kiss of Destruction - Damages foes with the power of light. Starts off fairly weak, but can become more powerful. Rage - Aurora automatically enters Rage when she's low on health. It lasts only a while, but during this time she has access to much more powerful magic. Divine Judgement - Aurora summons a diety to inflict damage on enemies. The damage is randomly cast - it could be status abnormalities or damage. Martyr - Aurora gives most of her remaining health to injure enemies. After this spell she becomes extremely weak, often passing out. Bio: Aurora is a very gentle young lady who was abandoned at birth by her parents because of her strange powers. Though she has the power of healing, she also possesses far deadlier magic. Her memories have been sealed with powerful magic by her adopted father, who lives in the now-restored floating city of Vane, to shield her from the pain they would surely bring her. Though her training in the magic school of Vane is still incomplete, she's now of age to question who she is and is about to set out on a journey to fully understand her powers.

Aurora looked at Kal, then at Erin, then at Kal again.
"...A little tense, Erin?" Aurora asked, scratching her head and letting out a very soft nervous laugh.

Aurora bowed slightly. "Forgive me! I seem to have left my manners in Vane. I'm Aurora. Pleased to meet you both."
She ripped off a piece of her fish and fed it to Relm as well, pulling her hands away from him as he ate. She looked at Seris intently and waited for his response to Erin's question.

Aurora relaxed a bit and moved closer to Erin now that the danger had passed.
"Aww ... it looks like a cute little kitten, only with wings!" Aurora said, approaching Relm and scratching behind his ears. "Yes, it's fish. I'll gladly share my portion with you."
Aurora smiled. She didn't sense anything amiss about this man or his flying ball of fluff.
"Where's your companion?" Aurora asked, continuing to pet and scratch Relm.

Born and raised in Vane ... well, at least I'm putting up a good front.
Aurora nodded back and sat in front of the fire, adding a few twigs and dry bits of grass for kindling, but was startled by a small noise. She immediately realized they were footsteps.
"Who goes there?" Aurora asked, her voice slightly wavering. She quickly called her staff to her and it flew into her hand, already glowing faintly, ready to be used if necessary.

Aurora laughed and blushed a bit.
Wow, I'm such a ditz!
"You're right. I guess I'm just getting way too into this whole adventuring thing. I must seem like a complete twit!" she said, continuing to blush in a most mortified fashion.

"Yes ... you're right. As much as I love magic, studying on and on over the same thing does get a bit boring," Aurora said, grinning.
She reached into her bag yet again.
"Well, since we're here, we might as well have lunch. I brought some fresh fish with me and I'd be more than happy to share with you."
She produced three fish frozen solid in an enchanted block of ice and sat it on the ground beside her.
"I'll gather some twigs to start a fire," Aurora said. "This is actually kind of exciting!"
She smiled and hummed as she walked off in search of firewood.

( Don't worry about it, Ai. You've got your hands full. ^^ )
Aurora gave a small laugh as she sat beside a tree. "As good as forgotten."
We're on an even standing now. I guess everyone has something to hide. She seems very intelligent. I wonder why she'd want to skip class...
Her thoughts were interrupted as she swallowed and found her throat to be as dry as a dragon's scales. She dug into her bag, found her leather skin of water and took a long gulp from it.
Aurora looked up to find Erin's questioning face. She blinked and then realized, with a jolt, that she was once again forgetting her manners.
"Thirsty?" she inquired, holding the skin out to Erin.

"Ah, you have special powers, then," Aurora said, a bit surprised that someone other than herself possessed powers that were considered out of the ordinary. "I know how that feels."
Aurora almost instantly realized what she just said and she suddenly stopped, panicking.
"Um ... what I meant to say is that I can imagine how that feels. It must be terrible!" Aurora said with a very nervous giggle.
Not even an hour out of Vane and I'm about to give away my secret! I'm going to have to be more careful.
"Anyway, could we stop to take a break somewhere? My legs are aching! That's what I get for not exercising enough," Aurora said as cheerfully as possible.

Aurora laughed a bit.
"Meribia it is then!"
The girls started walking towards the gigantic city, no one truly leading, as if they were merely out for a stroll.
Aurora looked over at her companion and cleared her throat, deciding she would try to make conversation.
"So ... why do you want to leave Vane? Maybe to see the world?" Aurora asked, smiling a bit nervously.

Aurora just stared at Erin for a moment, a bit dumbfounded, to be honest.
Come with me? She doesn't know where I'm going ... hell, I barely know where I'm going. But it would be very nice to have someone to travel with, especially a fellow magician. This might even be fun!
Aurora smiled and laughed excitedly. "Really? That would be great! Where are you headed? I'm off to Meribia on some ... business. Is that alright with you?"

Aurora looked up quickly from what she was doing, which happened to be digging around in her bag.
"Oh! Hello there! ... Do I know you?" Aurora asked, before blushing a bit. "Please forgive my rudeness! I didn't mean it as such. I've seen your face before, but I can't place your name..."
Aurora let go of her bag and it swung back into place on her hips. She bowed deeply as a form of apology.
Smooth move, Aurora. Now she'll think you're just some dweeb.

"This thing is ancient! I hope it's still correct..." Aurora sighed as she carefully inspected an ancient map displayed on the library wall.
She had come here to find the way to Meribia. Though the librarians had given her condescending looks for asking about any area outside of Vane, Aurora was not one to be so easily intimidated.
The only problem with Vane is that everyone is so self-righteous.
Aurora slightly shook her head to shake away her thoughts and peered closely at the map one more time.
Well, assuming this old thing is right, my path won't be that difficult. Even so, I must be cautious at all times.
Aurora stared at the map just a bit longer, memorizing it, before turning out to leave. She quickly walked to the Transmission Spring, taking a final look at what had become her home.
"Come back soon from your studies, Aurora, and go with the Goddess!" The spring guard said, smiling cheerfully.
"Thank you," Aurora said with a soft smile. But I doubt I'll be back anytime soon...
One last look and she was gone, out into the outside world again for the first time in ten years.

Aurora sat straight across from her father at their dining table in the midst of their majestic kitchen. Both were silently picking at their breakfast.
What can I possibly say to him...?
Her father pushed a bit of food around on his plate and then put his fork down with too much force, making a discordant sound of silver on fine china.
"Aurora..." he started, trying to maintain his dignity, "today is our final day together."
"Father! You know I'll come visit you and--" Aurora started.
He silenced her with a wave of his hand, his ruby signet flashing in the light. "Hear me out, my dear. Please."
Aurora leaned back a bit in her chair, regaining her composure, and nodded slightly.
He cleared his throat a bit and continued. "You are now a woman. I have no power over you ... that being said, I have something to confess to you."
Aurora leaned forward a bit, her eyes begging him to go on.
Her father squirmed a bit in his chair. "When I found you, the pain you were in had nearly driven you mad. Some of your memories are not exactly ... pleasant. When I brought you here, I used a forbidden magic to seal away your memories. It was only to protect you and to take you from the pain you were in!"
Aurora bit her lip, reigning in the torrent of emotions that filled her. "I ... I understand."
Her father's eyes glinted with tears, tears that he was far too proud to shed. "I myself am not sure how to remove the magic. However, the magician who performed the ceremony lives on Black Rose Street in Meribia. Surely he can help you. Sadly, I never asked for his name ... I thought this day would never come."
Aurora clenched her hands into fists under the table, digging her nails into her smooth, pale palm. How was she supposed to react to something like that?
"Father..." she said, biting back tears, "I understand your decision. I know you did what was right for me. Thank you, papa." She somehow managed a smile.
Her father smiled back, seemingly filled with relief. "I'm glad. One more thing before you go, my child. I know you are not of my own blood, but I love you as if you were rightfully born to me. Never tell anyone about your powers. Not one single soul. Do you understand me?"
Aurora nodded gravely. Her father smiled a bit.
"Then go, my dear. I'll miss you ... ever so much..."
Aurora rose and hugged her father tightly, the man who had taken her in and shown her all the luxuries she could ever want, and did her best to hold back tears.
"I love you, papa," she whispered into his rich velvet tunic.
"And I love you, my daughter. Now, you may take your leave. Go with the Goddess," her father said, smiling with what seemed to be relief tinged with poignancy.
Aurora maintained her composure until she got outside her home. There, on her lawn, she sat on the edge of the fountain and wept until she couldn't weep anymore. Things would be different from now on. Much different.
