MSPB: Salvage
Prologue: Angel Kitty’s Vision
10 months ago a small group of members saved the Mobile Suit Pilot Bar. It was by their courage that countless lives were saved. Little did they know that what they had encountered was only the tip of the iceberg. Almost a year has passed, and though the chapter had been finished, the book was still being written...
“Draco! You woke up the babies!” Rose and Renee yelled together. Draco fell out of his barstool with a crash, barely audible over the cries of their babies, Jonathan and Sarah. Rose didn’t harm Draco, but Renee took out her famed shotgun and aimed it at Draco’s head. He stopped dead in his tracks and immediately tried to stop the children’s crying.
“That’s better!” the girls said in unison.
Angel Kitty laughed at the Bar patron’s antics. It was good to be working at the Bar, she had enjoyed working here for the past 4 to 7 months. Although Draco and Fireball owned it, Fireball had been showing up less and less, staying in his house, wherever that was. What was going on with him?
Kitty went to the storeroom for the Bar to get some more Dr. Pepper for Draco when she stopped. She collapsed to the floor, her head in serious pain. With her powerful headache she suddenly saw something that wasn’t in front of her and had yet to happen.
Angel Kitty moaned in pain from the wound she had received. Fireball ran to her and held her head. “Are you okay?”
“Fireball...” she tried to tell him but she was in too much pain. He nodded and began to look around for something to patch up her wound. Finding nothing he turned back to her, looming over her bleeding body. “It’s...”
“I know,” he said. Then he drew a pistol and aimed it at her. With an emotionless face he fired...
“Kitty!” Velesia ran into the storeroom to pick up the crouching AK. “We heard a scream. What happened?”
Kitty didn’t move. The vision had scared her completely. “I don’t know.”

Chapter 1: Beginnings
Fireball sat in his house, looking down upon the crowded town that was the Neutral Town, the home of the MSPB. He had moved into this place a few months ago. It was atop an old building, and it was on the fourth floor that he had made his abode, in a large, open room. Only one other person knew where it was...
It was that thought that brought him back to his musing. It had been almost a month and he had not heard from her since. Not since the morning after... No! He had to get over her. It wasn’t like she was suddenly going to come back and declare her love for him. That never happened to him. Never. *** On the busy street of the MSPB, the killer silently strode down the street. He strong and powerful, but he did not stand out that much. He was still relishing the thrill of the meeting.
Everything is going extremely well, the killer thought. Hard to believe that he had only been contacted a few days ago. The killer could remember everything that had happened in the meeting...
The killer looked around as he picked up the phone. A soft, but commanding voice spoke, “My name is Persephone. I have a job I need done. Your skills are for hire?”
“If the job is right,” the killer replied cautiously. The caller told him.
“I will do it. For a price.”
“Of course. You will be paid when the job is done.”
“It’s a deal.”
After that the killer had gone to work fulfilling Persephone’s wish. His excursion last night had only had one casualty. After doing what he was told he had to slit Zorak’s throat for finding him. Now that was one person out of the way. He was now going to wait for Persephone to call him again. Of course, he had ways to pass the time... *** Otaku finally stopped talking about the remodeling she had done to her apartment when Bladed Edge walked in. He hadn’t been around in a while. There were a lot of new faces for him to see. He spotted Mega Raptor and rushed over to his friend.
“Hey man what’s been going on? I heard that Raz ravaged the place a while ago,” Bladed said, taking a look around. MR grinned and high-fived his friend.
“You wouldn’t believe it. I’m a dad now,” he said, with a hint of pride. Bladed eyes widened in surprise and shock.
“Wow.”
“Long time no see man,” MR said laughing at Bladed’s shock.
“Yeah, who’s running the Bar now? I see surfboards and Deathstars.”
“Fireball and Draco. Well I guess mostly Draco now,” MR said, looked around. Where was Fireball hiding out? He couldn’t be as emotional as Raz had called him, could he?
“That explains the Deathstars...” Bladed said, ordering a Dr. Pepper. “What about the picture of Alpha, Draco, Fireball and me at the Golden Gundam?”
“Uh, I think Fireball took that from Gundam Project. Said it was special to him. I think he took it a long time ago. He has long hair now,” MR said, indicating the less lengthy hair on the teen.
“Those were good times. So why do you look so tired if things are going good?”
“Rose and I aren’t getting much sleep with the baby around.” *** The killer crept through the alley behind the Bar. He drew his switchblade knife and waited. As long as no one saw him he’d be fine. He crept into the back of the Bar. The killer slowly opened the door to the back room of the Bar. He knife was held carefully in his hands as he entered what had been Fireball’s room nine months ago. Now it was empty, with only a bit of decoration.
The killer quickly stepped through the room. He peered around the corner into the main room of the bar. Mega Raptor was the only person there and he was leaving. The killer rushed behind the bar counter, not making a sound as Mega Raptor left the building. The killer smiled. Tonight Neutral Town would know fear... *** Angelkitty’s Apartment, Three Hours Later
Angel Kitty sighed, sipping her soda again. That vision thing of hers was still messing with her. She shook her head looking around. With another sigh she sat down on her couch, staring into her drink.
“Hey are you okay?” Velesia asked, sitting down next to her.
“I don’t know,” Kitty replied looking up at her friend.
“I don’t know what happened to you but it will be okay. It’s not real,” Velesia said, putting a hand on Kitty’s shoulder.
“I don’t know. It just seemed so real. The pains, the sounds, even Fireball seemed so real. I just wish I knew what was going on,” Angel Kitty said solemnly.
“You’ll be fine.”
“I guess,” Angel Kitty said, with a forced smile. She turned back to Velesia and took a gulp of her drink when she had a muscle spasm and her drink went flying. It was another vision. Only this time it was worse. She fell to the ground clutching her head. Everything was painful to her.
The Town was aflame. Explosions filled the night sky. From above the Neutral Town a rain of fire poured down. Screams were heard from every area of the land. From her apartment Angel Kitty stared awe struck at the destruction.
In a flash of light the Bar blew up in a collage of flames. A wave of fire flew in every direction from its destruction. Buildings collapsed, people screamed. It was hell. Kitty stared, scared, watching the explosions around her. She didn’t notice that some of the falling fire was heading toward the Apartment building... *** Fireball stared out of his window at the setting sun. His warehouse home was slowly darkening, as he did not turn on his lights. He was still in his melancholy mood. He sighed, still thinking about the past. How could she leave him like that? Didn’t he mean anything to her?
He sighed, turning away from the sunset. He walked over to his stereo system, which was at the other end of his home. He found the CD he wanted and selected the song. Slowly the sounds of AFI’s “The Great Disappointment” filled the air. He walked to the center of the room, looking around thoughtfully as he began to sing.
“I can remember, a place I used to go. Chrysanthemums of white They seemed so beautiful. I can remember, I searched for the amaranth. I'd shut my eyes, to see.
Oh how I smiled then, so near the cherished ones. I knew they would appear, saw not a single one. Oh how I smiled then, waiting so patiently. I'd make a wish and bleed.
While I waited, I was wasting away While I waited, I was wasting away
I can remember...dreamt them so vividly Soft creatures draped in white, light kisses gracing me I can remember when I first realized dreams were the only place to see them.
While I waited, I was wasting away While I waited, I was wasting away While I waited, I was wasting away
Hope was wasting away. Faith was wasting away. I was wasting away.
I never, never wanted this. I always wanted to believe. Never never wanted this. I could not help because. Never Never wanted this. From the start I'd been deceived. Never never wanted this. I could not help because.
I never, never wanted this. I always wanted to believe. Never never wanted this. Never Never wanted this. From the start I'd been deceived. Never never wanted this.
Inside a crumbling effigy (But you promised) So dies all innocence (But you promised me)
While I waited, I was wasting away While I waited, I was wasting away While I waited, I was wasting away
Hope was wasting away. Faith was wasting away. I was wasting away.”
Next time on Mobile Suit Pilot Bar: Salvage: The killer still lurks in the shadows of Neutral Town, waiting for his mysterious employer Persephone to contact him. And what does Angel Kitty’s visions have to do with any of this? All this and more, next time on Mobile Suit Pilot Bar: Salvage!

Chapter 2: Trouble
Angel Kitty awoke from a troubled dream and shook her head to clear her mind. It was that same vision again. One of those head splitting, shocking visions. She rolled out of her bed and walked to her apartment kitchen. Pouring herself a glass of orange juice she tried to remember what had happened.
It seemed to be a combination of the two visions she had experienced before. The explosions at the Bar culminated with Fireball aiming a gun at her head. What did all this mean? What was going on? *** The killer sat in an alley in Neutral Town, humming a tune happily. The flute hovering near his mouth played the uplifting tune. He had all the time in the world to rest. He leaned back against the wall, still paying his tune when his cell phone rang. One person had given him it. That meant...
“Persephone?” he asked, answering his phone while putting his flute to the side.
“Yes,” came the soft, yet commanding voice of his employer. The killer sat up straight, looking around cautiously for anyone who might spot him. On the phone he heard Persephone laugh. It was a simple laugh, neither high pitched or rough.
“You don’t need to do that you know. I can see you but you can’t see me. That is how it works,” Persephone said, with a hint of glee in her voice. The killer frowned but did not let his frustration seep into his voice.
“What do you want?” he asked inquisitively. In his hand he slowly reached for a small knife. He could tell he was being watched. Persephone was right.
“I need you to do the next step in the plan. Tonight I need you to make sure the fireworks go off. Make them suffer,” Persephone replied, voice filled with glee.
“Of course. Look for the light show tonight,” the killer replied, before Persephone hung up and left the killer to his own thoughts. *** Fireholder woke with a start. Shaking his head he tried to get out of bed when he fell on the floor of his bedroom with a thud. He looked back up at the bed and saw that his feet were tangled in the bed sheets.
“Nice,” Otaku said, walking into the room with a tray of orange juice. Fireholder rubbed his sore nose and pulled himself back onto the bed, examining the bed sheets for a way to free himself. While Otaku set the tray down on the bedside table Fireholder sighed, unable to free himself. How did he end up stuck like this?
“You’re hopeless sometimes,” Otaku said, producing a small knife. With it she cut off the sheets wrapped around her husband. Now free, Fireholder hugged his wife and got out of bed. He poured himself a glass of orange juice and savored the taste. “So what’s the weather like?”
“Nice enough to get your lazy butt out of bed.”
“Right,” Fireholder mocked as he got dressed for the pool. He wanted to swim badly. Otaku saw him pull on his bathing suit and jumped up happily. “The pool! YAY!” *** Renee Aarons happily poured herself a drink. For once the bar was not crowded and she could relax. She wondered what her son Jonathan was doing at his babysitter Rose’s house. Probably sleeping. She chuckled and sat down on a barstool, drinking her drink.
When she was finished she went to get more soda for another one when she noticed that she was out. She frowned. Draco should pay more attention to his own stinking bar. She sighed, pouting. She was so frustrated she pulled out her shotgun when the door to the bar opened.
“Hello Ren-aaaagggghhh!” Bladed Edge yelled, falling to the floor in fright. Blinking Renee replaced her gun under the counter and Bladed slowly got to his feet.
“Sorry,” said Renee.
“Uh, thanks. Got any Dr. Pepper?” Bladed asked, taking a seat cautiously. Renee shook her head before walking off to the storeroom, leaving Bladed in shock.
Meanwhile Renee had entered the storeroom and was looking around for one of the crates of Dr. Pepper that lay around the room. Finding it she rushed to get her precious soda. Unbeknownst to her, laying behind the crate was one of the many bundles of dynamite that lay hidden in the bar. *** Mega Raptor walked along the streets of Neutral Town, enjoying the night’s breeze. Rose was taking care of Sarah and Jonathan so he had decided to take a walk. He was enjoying this day very much. Very much indeed.
As he spotted the Bar ahead he walked towards it when all of a sudden it burst into flames. The explosion sent him tumbling to the ground. Stumbling up he cursed as rockets flew out of the Bar in every direction. He ducked as one flew over his head. Turning around he saw it crash into a building, sending chunks of flaming rock down near him. He ran, pieces of concrete flying after him. He cursed as one large piece of metal from the Bar came flying at him. He dived, barely avoiding being crushed.
Getting up he looked around. Everywhere he looked he could see flames and pieces of wreckage. What the Hell was going on? Panting he turned to look at the alley behind the Bar. His eyes widened as he spotted someone there. His metal hand making a fist he ran after the figure. *** Rose screamed as the Bar suddenly exploded, sending explosions all over Neutral Town. Her screams woke the babies and made them scream. She rushed to them and grabbed them out of their cradle. With her child and friend’s child in hand she left her apartment to get to the lobby.
As she entered the hallway of the Apartments she screamed as a piece of concrete slammed through a nearby apartment, sending wreckage into the hallway. She coughed at the dust that was suddenly filling the building. Rose turned and ran the other way to the stairs.
As she entered the stairway she found Otaku and Angel Kitty, both panicked and running down the stairs. She told them to calm down and handed Jonathan to Otaku. “Everything will be okay. Otaku, where is Fireholder?”
“He’s at the Holodeck fighting Squall. I wish he was here,” Otaku said as they ran down the stairs. Finally, after many flights of stairs they reached the lobby, which was crowded. Rose sat down and tried to calm down Sarah, but the baby girl would not stop crying. “Don’t worry. Everything will be okay. Daddy will be here soon.”

*** Mega Raptor chased after the man and ran as hard as he could. Leaping forward he tackled the figure to the ground. Struggling the killer kicked Mega Raptor off him. Mega Raptor stumbled to his feet, preparing a Cthulhu magic attack. Before he could however the killer delivered a roundhouse kick into the patron’s face.
Stumbling back Mega Raptor wiped the blood off his face that was coming from his lip. Taking the opportunity to take a look at his opponent he was surprised. The man was tall, with bronze skin and closely cropped pale hair. On his left cheek there was a small, thick scar. He wore blue jeans with hard black boots, along with a loose fitting tan shirt. The sleeves were attached to the wrists by bandages. At his hip was a heavy bladed knife. Despite the loose fitting clothes Mega Raptor could tell the man was strong, and experience at fighting.
Moving into a fighting stance he made a fist before running forward. He threw a punch, which was deflected and blocked a counter attack from the killer. He stepped back, then spun around with an attempted roundhouse kick. The killer fell to the ground avoiding the strike and spinning as well to trip Mega Raptor to the ground. Mega Raptor kicked at the man’s chest while on the ground but the killer simply knocked his leg away.
Mega Raptor stumbled to his feet slowly. Getting back into his fighting stance he asked, “Who are you?”
“Your killer. At least, that is my role tonight. It is what Persephone has asked me to do,” the killer replied, throwing a pair of punches at Mega Raptor. He blocked the first but took the second hard to the chest. Stumbling back he watched as the killer unsheathed his heavy bladed knife. He began to walk toward Mega Raptor, knife raised, when a piece of concrete struck him in the back. Falling to the ground the killer turned to see Sean standing behind him, muttering an incantation, sending a trashcan at the killer.
Getting up he kicked the trashcan out of his way and rushed forward. Sean barely avoided being slashed across the face and kicked the killer in the stomach, causing him to stop. Meanwhile Mega Raptor had begun to concentrate. With a gesture he shuddered as the Yog-Sothoth spell came into affect. Running forward he kicked the killer in the back, sending him to the ground. Turning to Sean he asked, “Why are you here?”
“I saw fighting in the alley and had to check it out. You?” Sean replied.
“The same,” Mega Raptor replied when the killer rose to his feet. Still gripping the knife he threw a kick at Sean, who jumped back. Mega Raptor ran forward, and with his new martial arts ability he blocked the blows aimed at him and kicked the killer back, into a piece of concrete moved by the now chanting Sean.
“Now, who is Persephone?” Mega Raptor asked, standing over the killer.
“Why should I tell you? You’ll probably be dead soon enough,” replied the bronze skinned man, kicking the patron’s leg and getting to his feet. He then grabbed Mega Raptor’s arm and threw him against a brick wall nearby. Running forward he performed a flying kick, which the patron dodged, leaving the killer’s foot hitting the bricks. The killer responded by using that as a base for a roundhouse kick into Mega Raptor’s face. He blocked it and threw a punch at the killer’s face. His mechanical claws hit the man’s face and ripped off a lot of his skin.
“No way...” the patron said, surprised at what he had just uncovered. The man’s skin on his face was half gone, revealing a bloody mechanical face. At his surprise the robotic assassin kicked the patron in the face and with his knife lunged at Sean.
Sean cursed as the man tackled him; knife aimed at his face. He tried to move something to hit the man but the robotic killer punched him hard in the face. Sean spat out blood and barely managed to hold back the knife attack with both his hands. The killer punched him hard in the face again, the back of his head hitting the asphalt road. Cursing in pain he screamed as the knife sank into his left shoulder, the pain making him loose all control. For a split second he stared in shock at some revelation before the pain returned.
The killer pulled out the knife to stab Sean in the face when he was kicked brutally off his wounded prey. The killer got to his feet only to he kicked hard in the stomach, sending him into a wall. Before he could make a move though, a long pointed metal rod slammed into his face, hitting the control center of the robot, killing the killer. Mega Raptor let go of the rod and took a deep breath, still on an adrenaline rush. He helped Sean to his feet, who was now clutching his wound and staring shocked.
“Are you okay Sean?” he asked.
“No. We all aren’t okay,” he stammered.
“What do you mean?”
“Raz is back.” *** Aegis looked around in frustration for his pistol. Outside his window the flames raged, still causing explosions as they reached cars and electrical cords. He was freaking out over what was happening. Hadn’t they just had an apocalyptic attack on Neutral Town six months ago?
Finding his pistol he checked to see if it was loaded. Seeing it was he grabbed an extra clip just incase. He cocked his gun and ran out of his apartment toward the staircase leading to the lobby. He ran down the stairs, sometimes having to jump two in an attempt to avoid pieces of rubble. He entered the lobby and ran out, paying no attention to the masses crowded there. He turned the corner on the street, running to the flaming remains of the Bar when he was stopped by a few words.
“You can’t save anybody.”
Aegis turned to see Fireball walk toward him solemnly. He was surprised for two reasons. First off, he had not seen the teen in awhile and secondly because he wore a katana under a black duster. Walking toward his fellow patron he called out, “What do you mean?”
“I mean you won’t live long enough to reach the Bar,” Fireball said, one hand on his katana’s hilt. Aegis stepped back nervously, a hand on his pistol as the teenager began to advance. Aegis gritted his teeth and was wondering what was going on.
“Have you gone crazy or something?” he yelled, now fully gripping his gun.
“No. I have just seen the future of the Bar,” Fireball said, now within fifteen feet of Aegis. He put a hand on his katana as if to draw it. That was the last straw for Aegis. He pulled out his pistol and fired a shot. Fireball, however, had seen the gun and noticed it being drawn. He ducked, avoiding the bullet while he pulled out a small knife. He threw it at Aegis while running forward. The knife hit Aegis in the left arm.
Aegis cursed at the pain in his arm as Fireball ran past him. He turned, drawing his katana in a fluid movement. Aegis turned and raised his gun. Fireball’s sword knocked the gun away from him, the fired bullet completely missing Fireball. The swordsman pushed Aegis back.
Running forward again he put a gash in Aegis’s left leg, causing him to stumbled back as he fired a shot in Fireball’s right arm, sending out a spurt of blood. In anger he stabbed Aegis in the hand, sending the gun spinning away. Pulling his katana back he performed a slash that beheaded Aegis. The lifeless corpse fell to the ground, a pool of blood forming around him. Fireball pulled out a handkerchief and wiped the blood off his sword and face. He leaned against a wall and thought back to what had happened earlier that day...
Fireball sat in his home, a sullen look on his face as he stared out of his large windows. He was still in his depression, although not singing at the moment. He wished he could be with her, to be with the one he loved. His lips could still remember kissing her a month ago. Oh how he missed her.
“Why you seemed depressed,” came a soft, happy voice. Fireball was surprised to find someone at his hidden home and looked up, only to be more shocked. Standing at his door was a beautiful woman around his age, with long brown hair, a good-looking body, and bright blue eyes.
“Persephone...” Fireball said, the words trailing off as a look of happiness filled his face. Getting off his couch he ran to her, giving her a loving hug. She returned the embrace and kissed his lips lightly. “Where have you been? I’ve missed you so much.”
“Fireball, love, I need you to do something to protect me, to protect our family,” she replied, kissing him again. He tried to say something, as he was confused. Persephone put a finger to his lips to signal him to be quiet. He complied and she moved him to a chair. Taking his hand she placed it on her stomach. “Do you feel it? It’s our child.”
Next Time on Mobile Suit Pilot Bar: Salvage: According to Sean Raz is back. Also Fireball is apparently evil, and everything that is happening seems to be fitting in with some master plan. What are the gang going to do? All this and more, next time on Mobile Suit Pilot Bar: Salvage!

Uh, the killer wasn't Raz. You're confused a bit Rose. After they fight the robot, Sean says, "Raz is back." Now tell me, what does that imply? It implies that Raz is the robot. It's not my fault you didn't write that more clearly.
