*Shakes his head* And then we wonder why so many people hate us... (No offence, Wag.)
Listen, both of you. You guys don't have to fight about it. Sure, there have been a few blind spots, but not that many. I've found a lot of the moderators there to be quite lenient, Wag. Remember when I cussed out that retard Tengu and they scolded me for it? Well, I wasn't banned. And I had threatened some pretty bad shit. I can see you and Zorak pressing certain issues to the point of exhaustion. Not that you shouldn't have the right to do that, but not repeatedly, and openly, where you can disturb the boards.
So, you may ask, am I kissing ass? I might be. That depends on which point of view you take. However, I am saying that neither side was right. AX should be a bit more lenient, and you guys should lighten up a bit.
And Kaji, please don't come around here just to start trouble. Please. It's happened enough times before that everyone is sick of it. Let's stop fighting before it gets worse.

Oooohhh... That is interesting. I remember all of them from my days at AX (when I was half-decently respected among the populace), and I can say that was a very smart move on both of their parts. It's about time more integral members started jumping ship.

*ahem* I believe I mentioned this would be better kept civil. Anyway, as I was saying there's a right way to deal with idiots and a wrong way to do it. Now, I myself never got in trouble there, then again I think I got around 20 posts in over two years of membership since Graybear took over. The thing is, the way the Gundam Watch staff acted in most situations was with a very condescending/holier-than-thou attitude that tended to piss people on the recieving end off. Not to mention the fact they did things like outright bans on people before they even joined the boards (to the extent of putting the login in the swear filter) and editing posts that could 'offend' someone, even if the person was obviously joking. (for example, a post that was deleted that more or less said 'Thank you! You've proven yourself competant!') Needless to say, at least at the old boards, (can't speak for ZM's GW, since I have no intention of joining it) it was a situation where enough of the admin/mod staff seemed to be assholes that it angered a few people. Yes, it's their board and yes they are human beings, but it's a two way street. Even 'troublemakers' are human, and there are better ways to deal with them. I'm sorry, MR. You know how I am when I argue. I rest any further arguments I may have.

I'll give you one guess where I pulled that one up from.

Such a thing, I'm afraid, cannot be done unless I take over my little brother's account (which, of course, I cannot do, for fear that he might be banned).
However, I have scouted the original boards on multiple occasions using my brother's account, but never posted a thing. While viewing the topics, I found most of the people there to be pretty courteous to one-another. Much[/u][/b] nicer than most people on Gundam Plus are to each other (someone send that board some decent moderators, fast, because these ones are causing more problems then they solve). That board has it bad, and its going to burst into flames if not turned around. I assume, then, that GW may be the same way, but probably looks nicer than GPlus because they delete most of the "bad" topics.
Being on a message board means that you are part of a mini-society. Every society has its own rules. It's illegal to fish for whales in Nebraska, but that doesn't mean you can't do it elsewhere! Sure, Mods are sometimes oppressive. They take away your "freedoms". But, guess what? You don't have any freedoms there, anyway! Have you not realized that, yet? It's their board payed for by them, and they can damn well do what they want with it. So, I say, when in Rome, do as the Romans do! Assimilate! Get used to it! If you don't like it, then pack up and leave! It's not hard to do. You simply log out and don't ever come back. It's evident that you got more than just the Mods angry with you, because if anyone else really cared about you getting banned, they would have spoken up! Oh, I'm sure a few people did, and got banned, but was that the majority of the board? No? Did most the members keep their mouths shut? Did many posters get along just fine? I know they did. I've seen their conversations. I've seen what they've had to say about current events. They managed to "be individual" without getting in trouble. Sure, a political, religious, etc. debate can cause flaming, but that's life. You don't think that Bush and Kerry fight over differences? What they believe is not necessarily what you believe. If you tell a gun-nut that guns are evil, he/she will disagree with you! Maybe even kick your ass! Deal with it. You should see what happened to the old MSPB boards. Disputes among the staff and members developed into a full-scale "war", and eventually split the board in two. That's what those moderators are trying to avoid, most likely. Why? Because many of the members took it upon themselves to say "Hey! I don't like it this way! I don't like how you run things!" and the moderators replied "Well, maybe if you stopped getting us on your case with what is obviously something that gets people upset!" There is a line that cannot becrossed on a board. Seemingly "intellegent debates" can develop into a flame war in an instant. Moderators don't want that, and that's why they try to keep many of the more "emotionally exciting" threads and topics at bay.
Next, when you come back after three years and give a big "FUCK YOU!" to the remaining staff, they're not supposed to care? They are human beings!!![/u][/b] They have feelings, too! When you insult them, they get mad! I don't care if you did it "tastefully", over very covertly. The point is, you insulted all the people who put time into that board to make sure it's still there for those who want it to be. What a novel concept. Keeping things alive for the enjoyment of the majority, not actually everyone. Do you really think you count in any system individualy? (Sure, this ties in with the above paragraph, but I don't care.) These people try to keep a place that is safe for everyone just that... safe for everyone! And by everyone, I mean the majority! So, if you disrupt their system, they kick you out. Tranquility, just like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. What does your eye see?

As I previously stated, I've never been to Gundam Watch. I'm simply basing my opinion off of the few things I've heard about it, and my experience as a Mod. Can the board really be that bad? I can't help but think that everyone is exaggerating in their bitterness. My brother has been there many a time, and he has yet to encounter any problems with the staff.

Whoo. You honestly don't know what it feels like to be a site administrator or moderator. Let me start out by saying this: I never went to Gundam Watch. I never went to Gundam Project. I did, however, go to G.com and AX, where many of the things you describe also happened there. It also happened to a lesser degree on my first board, Colony (sadly, it no longer exists, as the store that it was being funded by shut down, and thus there was no reason to keep the board running).
First off, I'm guilty of being a site disturber. On a particularly bad day, I insulted an idiot and lost my place as semi-respected member of the G.com and AX forums. But, such is life. Second: I've been a moderator on a few message boards (most notably, I think, Zeon Hunter and Colony), and it's a damned hard job (even on a small board such as ZH, but, then again, one idiot made up for all the rest). These people are only human, and they have to deal with idiots of half of your[/u][/b] intellegence every day. These people have to repeatedly take complaints until they burst, and that's not fair. You're not making their jobs any easier by disagreeing with the things they set in stone. I can imagine that it must have been quite an infraction of the rules on your part in the first place, otherwise you'd have never gotten banned. Arguing with the Mods is one thing, but arguing[/u][/b] with is quite a different thing (if you get what I'm saying). So, trying to spew a new "I'm so high and mighty now that the old regime is gone!" isn't a very good thing to do. Saying that Gundam Project was "a haven that GB and the rest of GW could only dream of creating" wasn't cool, either. These people obviously had to deal with you once, but twice? That's bad. (I can only imagine what life would have been like if Char999 had decided to "grace" us with his prescence a second time.) It's different when you're a regular member, but when you're a Moderator or Administrator, you see things from a very different view. And sometimes having strict rules is the only way a board can function. They're dictatorships and regimes, not democracies. Try a board that works democratically, and I'll tell you how it'll turn into before it withers and dies. In fact, this is the closest to a democratic board that I've ever seen, and it still has its hinges. I'm sure there are still "board politics" behind the scenes, but at least nobody states them flat-out. Maybe a lot of them learned their[/u][/b] lesson the first time...

Okay. I'll ask her when she feels fit to pop in again, whenever that may be. It's been a long time since I've talked to her, anyway.
(And besides, the more time I spend on the computer waiting, the less time NM can spend on it! I've finally found a way to make him go outside and talk to his friends outside of pre-scheduled events!)

Happy birthday, Xtermo! *Sings various birthday chants in different languages... even those he doesn't know* I'll get you a present later.
Dang it, why hasn't someone compiled a birthday list, yet!? I'd be willing to do it, if you all would let me.

I typoed it incorrectly for effect. I know that. But by making up words, you're still killing English. And he's not particularly fond of assassination attempts.

The camera shots in the back yard don't count as a movie, Ai. I mean a professional, commercial movie. They're damned hard to make.
I don't think the movies were all that bad, but that's just personal preference..
