Many of us here use Windows and microsoft. Few... very few of us use the mac. But throwing out any partisan votes, which in your opinion is better?
Personally, I have both and I give it to Mac. It is more user friendly and you can usually figure out any problems with it by yourself.

Guys, from what I hear, people who are into Professionally doing Imaging have to use Mav and they hate it.
Windows/ PCs in general are better in my eyes.

Macs are technically 'better', but the PCs have and will most likely maintain the market.
Why? Backwards compatability.
Ever since the original IBM DOS based 'PC', most programs for PC could be used in later PCs (this was still true of just about everything until XP).
However, Macs didn't have this. You upgraded to a new Mac, you had to get all new programs too.
When Apple finally stopped doing that, the PC was already firmly established with everyone.

Overall a top of the line PC would totally annihalate a top of the line macintosh because you simply have more people involved in the innovation. This is hardware wise. Mobile computing PC's are just plain better. Give me a Fragbook over a Apple powerbook anyday. Macs aren't very good for gaming compared to PC's either. The Apple PowerPC, should also sell a cheaper display. Also the whole one button on the mouse thing on macs, WTF?!
Some things mac has that I like, the I-Pod, it is like essential to my life. I-tunes rules. But overall I like PC better.
I guess you can tell my preference when it comes to top of the line computers is PC, though I hate the name brand computer manufacturers for the most part, if I wasn't having my brother build one or going with Voodoo of Falcon NW, I'd go with Mac just out of sheer spite.

In short; (based on my limited experience) Macs seem to be good for people that neither know how to nor want to do more complicated things with their computers, were as PCs are more flexible. On the flip side of this, the very nature of PCs that I just described makes them more vulnerable to attacks. That and Windows is about as stable as a.... unstable.... thing….
Either way, I've got to get around to seriously checking Linux sometime.

Let's see... OSX for Macs has made the difference in my mind. Prior to its release MACS SUCKED. Period. They were buggy, lagged like crazy, and lacked the ability to put to use the power they had. Then came OSX, or as I like to call it "Fancy UNIX". Macs win for any kind of artsy-fartsy stuff, from art to movie editing hands down. their ability to process the threads used by programs that do that kind of thing is AMAZINGLY fast and equally functional.
But I'm a gamer. And that means Mac is out. It's not even a viable option for a gaming platform for the simple reason that almost no one writes games for Mac these days. Also, iMacs smell funny. I just thought I'd mention that while I was rambling. Unfortunately, the PC world is (as we all know) dominated by the evil minions of MicroShaft. Now, I'm not much of one to bag on people, but I must say that in general, MS is evil.
Hence my using Linux for things that I can get Linux to do. Once again, however, the gaming capabilities of Linux just aren't there. So I guess I'm going to be stuck with my good ol' dual-boot forever. Or at least until games start supporting Mac or Linux.

OMG THE ULTIMATE FLIP FLOP.
First he uses Mac, then he doesn't. He wouldn't make a very good computer owner.

What shall we do with the world, Mr. Flibble?
*Mr. Flibble leans close and whispers in Aries's ear.*
Gasp! We can't do thaaaat! Who'd clean up the mess?
Mr. Flibble: Heh heh heh...game over, boys...
