In my opinion, both men did very well in this debate and each had a very strong showing, but I found myself agreeing with Senator Edwards far more often than I did with the Vice President. Edwards was able to further clarify his ticket's stances on the issues and point out many of the administration's shortcomings. Actually, this debate reminded me of something: back during the Primaries, I wanted Edwards to be President.

I agreed with Edwards a lot, but I thought Dick Cheney did very well. Though Edwards still won, I couldn't help but respect Cheney's style, something I couldn't say about Bush. I think the Republicans would like to have Cheney debate Kerry instead of Bush.

Cheney's perhaps best remark of last nights debate has been refuted, irrevocubly (sorry about the spelling got up early to study, I'm a little exhausted) proving Dick Cheney is a grade A ass hole or deusch bag whichever you prefer. Turns out that was not the first time Mr. Cheney had met Mr. Edwards, I was very skeptical with the remark, but I assumed since it was so accusatory, Cheney would be sure he had it right. Anyways.... blog.johnkerry.com/blog/archives/Cheney-Edwards.jpgThere was this Prayer breakfast AND when Mrs. Dole was sworn in as Junior Senator from North Carolina. Thanks to Kieth Olbermann and the Hardball Blog for providing this info.

I have to vote for Dick Cheney. I mean, he DID unhinge his jaw and swallow Edawrds whole, for his life force.

Except for him exaggerating the truth to say the least. Remember when he diverted people to that site for Halliburton, well the site said Edwards was right.

Like you have to ask where Aries stands.
...
Actually, Aries thought that debate was really, really too close to call.
Aries will say one thing about Cheney, though. When Edwards got popped that question about gay marriage that he KNEW was originally a sticking point for Cheney, he gave him a way out, by talking specifically about the trouble he and his daughter have to go through. He didn't bash the party. He didn't bash Cheney's position. He didn't even bring Bush into it. He just said he recognized how hard it must be for Cheney to be in a position of power and have to be faced with a decision like that.
And Cheney, to his credit, said that he appreciated Edwards's empathy. That's the one time Aries will ever have respect for Dick Cheney. He was so...human for that brief second.
Aries also loved it when Edwards kept mentioning John Kerry's name despite that rule for that one question that said they couldn't mention their respective big man. That was SO intentional. That was Edwards saying, "Here's what I think of your crummy rules right 'ere!" And he's charismatic enough to pull it off. Nobody else in this race could do something like that. That was cool.
