I've placed this in Fanart as I consider it more of an "art piece" than fiction. It is collection of thoughts and insights I writing down on a note book once in a while as I go by my days, now in typed form, abstractly titled The Legacy of the Moon.
1
“Why should I live my life according to your rules?” one might ask.
“Because”, another party might answer, “to exist within a given society, you must accept the given rules and conventions –laws- that the society creates. It is these laws that frame the society. If you really do wish to live your life according to your own stylings, then you must exist outside of a social order.”
“But. All the livable areas of the world are covered by large social structures –nations, as we call them. It is impossible to realistically exist in a world devoid of social order. Hence, the only acceptable solution is to find a society that fits best to one’s own personal life style. This can involve physically moving to another region of the world or it may involve changing the society one already exists within. Both of these options presents varying degrees of challenge related directly to the desired social change and distance between the current location and destination of choice.”

The ability to be aware of our surroundings is what makes us human. Is this true? The bear is aware of her cave and the fish aware of the water, at least in the sense that the cave and the water’s existence are recognized. Humanity is found in the insight into our own environment. Human stupidity is found in the lack of insight into the future of insight into the future of our environment.
3
Do we allow the invisible hand to dictate our lives or, as humans, is it our nature to stand and choose a future? Such is the question of chaos and order. Entropy and gravity are both natural forces.
4
Can you survive without other people to lean on?
5
Consumerism, self indulgence and self denial; these are the tents of American capitalism.
6
Just how do the jingoistic feel? Happy? Angry?
7
Whether it is violence or the market price, those who seek control must what everyone is capable of understanding.
8
No matter what you do, in a complex society your life will be partially determined by the choices of others.
9
Without our minds, what are we?
10
“It all gets done in the end.”
“When does it end?”
“When it all gets done.”
11
Is science an art? Consider the lobster tail.
12
The more you subscribe yourself to a philosophy, the less others look at you as a person than an ideologue, a representative of an agenda. Is this ironic, or at the least, unfair? Why place a social penalty on belonging to a school of thought?
13
To live for the future and to live for the truth… Even if the truth is “abhorrent and ugly”, as Nietzsche would say, it is vital to the true intellectual to find it. The pure explorer lives to find the unexplored and there is no greater apex of discovery than the truth. While freedom more often than not may be taken from the truth, truth exists as an end to itself.
14
Yet, what is the truth? Moreover, where do we find it?
15
Tracing shadows, we are tracing shadows.
16
What is the division between truth and reality?
17
Freedom is the right to be the judicators of our own minds.
18
One may grow so meta-cognitive that they might wonder if they have overlooked a fact. Perhaps thoughts do not give birth to one another so much as they are stacked one on top of another like the stories of a building –only to come crashing down when struck by the outside world. This is the answer to what introspection is, but what is the question –the origin of introspection? Why become the introvert; why think while you can do? Why become the extrovert; why do while you can think? Why strike a balance; is moderation really so desirable?
19
I find the unopened book fascinating; the wisdom, clichés insights and non-sequesters that rest within the unturned cover.
20
How does insight come to us? Through thought and observation, followed by further thought.
21
Stylization. Style is an appeal that differentiates itself from the other. The over distribution of a style leads to the said style becoming the norm. We have become stylized. We have become normalized.
22
That which is, is. That which is not it thought. Tangible fiction is the product of an imagined reality. So I have caught you, character. The walking symbolism who lives to entertain and teach us.
23
Many eat but few taste. Is this really true? How can one make this assumption without knowing the tongues of the world?
24
A lost thought is a lost cause. The thought that slips into the nirvana of the forgotten is the coffin swallowed by the sea. Metaphors; the thinking wish to emulate the philosophers.
25
I wish for philosophy to engage and challenge me. Religion is too condescending.
26
Seeing detail. What is detail? The minuet truth of an object hidden from the casual glance. How does one see this detail? Look closely, insights often arise, but not always. Be prepared to not see the detail of a smooth surface. The surface hides detail of that which is within yet acts in defense.
27
Be as bold as possible in thought but as calm as possible in debate.
28
Something flawed; something beautiful. That which is unflawed is often said to be beautiful A crystal clear diamond, a perfectly round pearl, smooth soft skin; these are all examples, beautiful –but boring. With flaws comes the breaking of the monotonous, the birth of a greater interest and greater apathy. With the requirements for beauty seem to come requirements for perfection, to push one’s self to perfection is to inflict pain on one’s self. With beauty come pain, this is known by most intuitively. Hence the drama and tragedy of our romance stories.
29
Rarely is it that the proclamation of one’s objections for another with a rancorous tone finds any true progress. Rather, it is the proclamation of one’s hatred for another to a third party that sees motion. Thus is the origin of mob mentality and hatred as a means to an end.
30
It is the nature of artists to devalue their own work for either fear of substandard quality (thus beating the critic to the punch) or to fish for complements. The first group replies to the inquiry, the second proclaims themselves.
