Overall, the guards posted at the Alliance Forces camp were surprised to see a single rider stride up towards the entrance with extremely fast speed and, as the rain built up around them to block any clear sight from far away, their first initial reaction was to prepare themselves for any surprise attack; However, as the rider neared, data began entering their HUDs while their sensors analyzed the rider's identity, and it only took a second otherwise to find the rider --- riding up alone to the camp in true Wild Western fashion --- a friendly and someone who had no reason to attack the camp. Unless he was insane.
But other than the fact that there was nothing 'Western' about the rider, everything checked out for Kouji Kamishima, decked out in full God Gundam armor and with helmet on to shelter him from the rain, riding on Fuunsaiki as nobly as they both were. The guards relaxed. Kouji quickly dismounted, and after a moment spent patting Fuunsaiki reassuringly and trying to calm her down, he walked up to the entrance with a purpose and made his obeisance with a bow.
"Kouji Kamishima, freelance messenger on behalf of Major Kally Lyedalla, United Earth Government Army, 2nd Cavalry, based currently at Jaburo," Kouji reported with a professional air that the guards were immediately acquainted with, only stuttering at the last two words; Kally had made him remember all that, and she seemed to think it would make seeing Bryan Murdoch easier somehow --- Kouji, on the other hand, simply wanted to be done with the matter, do his job, and then get back to visiting Souffle, Yumi and Winnie as he promised he would. "I am carrying a Priority One dispatch for General Bryan Murdoch of the Alliance."

It was midway towards Kyte Soran's next mission that he finally realized he was not the only one capable of sneaking onto Ryu's Personal Transport, and it was as obvious to him as the blue-haired girl opening the door from the cargo bay to the more luxurious hold of the transport, plopping down with a relieved sigh, and at the same time helping herself to the use of the microwave to defrost a frozen pizza that she brought along.
"Wow," The first of Cerberus Unit's Witches of Macbeth squadron piped up with a grin as she immediately relaxed in the very cozy sofa. "Big Boss sure knows how to enjoy himself, PSP aside! I could see why you picked this transport to waste---uh, spend your time in!" ^_^
Before Kyte could turn around and chime in a reply, the identical green-haired and red-haired portions of the squadron likewise made their way into the hold, and soon all three of the Witches of Macbeth had gathered in Ryu's Personal Transport. All three, in addition to looking identical, were also quite relieved after hiding in the cargo hold for entirely too long; Kyte noticed that, and knew that even if there was any getting rid of his own henchwomen now, it would be hell before they'd get off those seats.
"Big Boss ain't the most powerful of the clan for nothin'." The second of the Witches, Kimmy, nodded with her sister Amy. "He sure doesn't hold back, eh, boss?" ^_^
"On most other things." Sammy, the last, giggled and snickered at the thought. ^_^
(And somewhere back at the Dragon Faction HQ, one Camilla Diamond found herself sneezing suddenly for no reason at all.)
"What..." Kyte, who even he had to be exasperated at the display, blurted out and stood up to his full height in an attempt to look menacing. "How did you sneak on board---"
"We just followed you." ^_^
"Of course, we also knew that you wouldn't waste time checking out the cargo, so..." ^_^
"Don't worry about us, Boss. You're the one with the nanocells; Who'll you think Big Boss will roast first for stealing his transport?" ^_^
"............................................"
"So," Amy finally piped up again, straightening herself and managing a...smaller grin at her boss. "Who're we going after this time? I hope he doesn't drink...." -_-
"I hope he doesn't use light arms..." -_-
"And I certainly hope he's not a Ninja. So, Boss, who is it Big Boss sent you to get, hmm, hmm, hmm?" -_-

"Well, I wouldn't mind one," Figures, anyway. It's not like Ryu intends to let me just walk out of his base. At the other thought that he cannot let Ryu know if anything else goes awry with this, however, Raidou frowned derisively and feigned a bitter spitting motion. "But no offence, the last time you sent an observer, it ended up discovered and busted. Ten busted observers doesn't help the element of surprise any, y'know.
"At either rate, just wait for the good news."
With that, Raidou turned on his heels, gave Ryu a mischeviously arrogant glance with his one good eye one more time, and left the chamber.

"Nah, they won't, and even if they do Kouji'll just beat them up, right?" Souffle yawned absently, partly for show, and sat herself upright in her chair once again. She knew Yumi was thinking of something else in regards to Jaburo but, whatever it was, it was best not to bring it up actively lest Yumi worry about it even more.
Souffle ignored the thinking and went on to more pleasant things --- and reminded herself not to tell Yumi about Gyakuten Saiban 4. It would probably be justification enough for Yumi to kill Kouji if she knew he was going to bring Souffle the last episodes. ^^ "And, of course, Fuunsaiki's going to be with him, too! I missed her! I wouldn't try to ride her, but still it's good to have her around...even if she is technically a Hunter..."
* * *
"They would, if they're into necrophilia. After all, for all technical purposes, I'm little more than a 'corpse' right now."
Raidou then glared into the first photo Ryu passed him --- and his features darkened.
"And you wouldn't be wrong. She always looked more like my wife."
He glared at the target dryly. Memories came into his mind just as quickly as they were suppressed again; It had been too long since he last saw her. Eight years, in fact. And the first five not by his choice. Raidou bit his lip. He had high hopes for her eight years ago, hopes that were shattered by the Ace Corps before they could take form, and even though she would never have agreed with where Raidou would've gone next, Raidou still loved her dearly. Once. And would've won the world for her.
Only something was wrong. The face was hers, but the rest of her...especially the armor he didn't recognize...
"This is even better." Raidou nodded to herself and forced a menacing grin on his half-face, trying not to let Ryu know that something was wrong. Something wasn't what Raidou had expected here, and that little detail had the potential to ruin everything. Still, Raidou learned never to panic until the very last moment. He handed the photos back to the Dragonmorph. "Finally, you've found what I need next to perfect my research --- and, in turn, helped the both of us immensely. Tell me where she is now, and I'll sally out right away --- I want this one myself."

"Oh, please, people around here are starting to refer to me as the Mirror Killer --- so I have a pretty good idea about my own appearance. And I can always use good news, yes, especially if it's about what I'm hoping it is about." Raidou half-grinned, the other half of the slightly sardonic-looking smile still a bare crossbones grin that looked absolutely menacing. He was still half-ugly. Mirror Killer, indeed! "In fact, if it isn't, I was thinking about asking you if I can just...accompany our old friend Kyte on one of those missions you've sent him on. Beats sitting around here, anyway. And I needed to work out all those years of bad luck I've managed to accumulate here in a month breaking mirrors repeatedly, so..."

"Yep, boy's coming over." Giggle. "And yes, he said he was at Jaburo. It's not his fault, though," Souffle quickly interjected before Yumi could finish the thought. "Someone named Kally dragged him there a month ago. And knowing Jaburo, don't worry, Yumie, I'm sure Kouji called on a secure channel so it can't be traced to us. I don't think he has a choice otherwise."
A pause. Souffle sighed; It had to be said before Yumi got too worried. She was sure that not even Kouji Kamishima was that careless.
"He said he'll come on over as soon as he can get permission to leave."
* * *
Raidou followed quickly enough, and found himself back to where he started before --- inside Ryu's chamber, standing there alone. Nice and convenient, Raidou grinned, and nodded to himself as he brushed whatever was there of him off from dust; I was going to see him myself, anyway, but let's see how he can pique my interest. Even him deciding to finally eliminate me would be more interesting than this...endless boredom. Every cell in his body seemed to almost itch with that prospect, though, as if eager to test themselves in combat, any combat.
The professor was bored beyond belief, yes.
"Ah, yes, Ryu, just about time for another conversation, hmm?" Raidou crossed his arms and nodded. "What do you want to talk about today? Boredom? Missions? Research on a pair of non-tear socks for you?"
* * *
"Kamishima."
"Kally-han? How can I help---" When Kally Lyedalla herself walked into Kouji's room, Kouji began to stand, but something suddenly made him pause. Kouji blinked blankly. Kally looked different; It was blatantly obvious in that she had gotten a new Aura Battler armor, red-and-white-and-black in paint, looking like a bird instead of an insect, and much more heavily armed, but Kouji knew it was something else. It was in the gleam of Kally's eyes.
She seemed even more assertive than before. And, seemingly, a bit more aggressive.
Was that a good thing?
"Oh, yes, Kally-han, I, uh..." Kouji began, but Kally raised a hand to stop him.
"I know you're itching to leave, Kamishima, so don't bother asking. Personally, I'd rather you get out of my sight as soon as possible so that I won't have to deal with you --- so if my permission's what you were planning to ask for, you have it." Kally continued, and she glared derisively at the boy, taking a step forward purposefully. She had expected this; Kouji never liked Jaburo, and Jaburo never really liked him, and it was natural for a wandering street fighter like Kouji Kamishima to want to leave the largest UEG headquarters in the world behind, but...
"But before you go on your own merry way, there is another task I am sending you on."
That Kouji hadn't expected. Kally reached into one of her back compartments and, after some browsing, pulled out a single data disc in a tight, secure box.
"I want you and Fuunsaiki to deliver this data disc to General Bryan Murdoch as quickly as possible. It contains all the data Jaburo has gathered on Yamato activities in the world, including..." Kally paused. If General Khall found out she had been dabbling in some of the Alliance's more forbidden files on Millenium in that disc --- especially since one or two were supposed to be from his own personal 'collection' --- he'd probably short-circuit. "You'll know where he is, and with Fuunsaiki's speed and manueverability it shouldn't be any problem for you to get there." Kouji winced at Kally talking about Fuunsaiki as if she was nothing more than a steed; She was family to him! "Oh, don't look at me like that, I'm just stating the facts, and the fact is there's nothing faster in Jaburo than your Mobile Horse. So once you get there, give this disc to him, and make sure he can read it. Get on it, Kamishima, and goodbye."

"No, not at all, Yumie, come on in!" Souffle chimed, waving to tell Yumi to come into the room, and then turned back towards her desk. "Listen, Kouji, I have to go now. Call me back tomorrow to see if you can drop by, mmkay? Okay, take care, bye!"
With that Souffle hung up and turned back to Yumi, clasping her hands together and grinning widely. "Oh, that was Kouji --- he went to Jaburo for some reason. Something about a Kally-han, whoever she is...So, everything alright today, Yumie? Do you need me to go out and pick up any groceries?" Obviously the girl was giggly about something, and not just Gyakuten Saiban 4.
"By the way," Souffle's eyes widened and shone. "Did you know Kouji's thinking of coming over to visit us? We're gonna see him and Fuunsaiki again!"
* * *
A normal Human body simply wasn't designed to control nearly as much Aura Power as Billbine was designed to process.
But I'm hardly normal, if I'm even Human to begin with, Kally thought to herself and winced in pain, her body and Billbine tugging at each other in an isolated corner of the base, inside a very isolated cave, while they battled for dominance. The Billbine armor was around her now; there was no turning back for either of them. Kally, though, remained standing in the middle of said cave while wearing Billbine, unmoving, just stoicly standing.
Of course, that was also because she can't, but Kally expected there would be a lot of pain trying to control Billbine.
And pain there was! Dunbine was nothing compared to Billbine, and what Kally had been accustomed to and trained for in Dunbine, with its much more subtle and passive-feeling Aura, proved inadequate in trying to tame Billbine's outright violent and intense one. Every time Kally tried to even move Billbine using her own Aura, Billbine fought back, trying to fuse its own Aura with Kally's as Dunbine had. And Kally hurt all over when that happened. It was too intense. Once she even felt herself angry --- and wanting to lash out and destroy the cave around her to alleviate that pain.
Then, it hit her.
Adrenaline, Kally realized and, at that discovery, smiled to herself for a moment. That's the key to controlling Billbine's full potential! Billbine's Aura is too intense for a passive Aura to fuse with; Most Humans don't generally have violent Auras that suit Billbine. Camilla Diamond's would be one of the few, and she's not trained to handle Aura Battlers --- otherwise Billbine would just love her.
Kally shuddered at the thought. Did Billbine just bristle with excitement at that? If I'm to control Billbine, I'll have to match its intensity. I'll have to be just as pent-up as it requires.
She closed her eyes, took a deep breath to rest, and then tried to move her right arm again --- Billbine, predictably, tried once more to fuse its power with Kally, and as both Auras fused, Kally once again felt a sharp pain all over her that nearly caused her to lose her breath. She gasped, but didn't let up. She kept trying to move. Billbine kept trying to interface.
It hurt everywhere. It's frustrating. She wished she could destroy that ugly-looking stalagmite over there---
That's it, that's the state of mind...just a little more, just a little more, come on, you b******! Kally's mind cried out. The pain became intense. Kally felt as if her own soul was being changed into something else that wasn't her---it hurt, and it's not fair, and that ugly-looking stalagmite's laughing at her as if taunting her and---
Kally charged, brought her right arm down, and shattered the stalagmite in one blow.
Then she paused. She moved her right arm; it moved with her, and so did her left arm. And her legs. Kally panted heavily. She hadn't felt so pent-up in days; she felt aggressive, proud, angry! She almost felt invincible --- Kally had bent Billbine to her will, and it felt great, and she hadn't moved as aggressively in a month...
Wait.
Kally began walking slowly in circles and, as it hit her again, she closed her eyes and tried to force herself to calm back down. Her powerful self-control took form soon enough, and when Kally managed to calm down, the aggressive feelings faded, but as she tried to feel for her own Aura again Kally felt...changed. Billbine had changed it. It was no longer as passive as Kally had remembered; it was more intense now, more violent to match Billbine's. And it had grown.
She knew Billbine had just accepted her. But at what cost?
Was this what Minos had tried to warn me about? If I had tried to push Billbine to its full potential then, would I have gone insane right there and then? Kally wondered to herself and, still grateful that Billbine had finally been brought under her control --- for now --- she sat herself down to contemplate the turn of events. I'll just have to make sure I can control myself, then. He was right; Billbine is dangerous, not just because of its performance, but because it requires a user to be just as violent as a Hunter to unleash its full, final potential...
But how can I do that without losing my soul?
For now, though, Kally relished in Billbine's upgraded power surging through her, fusing with her own Aura, and she smiled to herself. She would no longer have to sit idle; any more idling would be her choice, and she would not be stopped this time. With that thought in mind, Kally leapt, and Billbine took over; with a surge of pure speed, it boosted away, and Kally found herself soaring high above Jaburo with a newfound freedom.

If Kyte had actually been bored with the routine of the past month, he wasn't the only one.
Raidou Reeds frowned at the thought.
It was the truth. For the past month he had been a guest of the so-called 'Dragon Faction' --- it was Raidou's own name for the Yamato Remnants that Ryu had led, and it sounded catchy enough to the professor --- given a room, food, board and enough pent-up energy to boost a full Manchester United game. And, of course, Raidou didn't like how he was being made to wait, how, although Ryu had his methods to the madness, he was being kept behind.
With that boredom, Raidou had to wonder if Ryu was taking his time with tracking her down simply to keep Raidou pacified.
At least he couldn't say that he was wasting the month. With each passing day spent in near-isolation when he wasn't having conversations with the Dragon Faction leader, Raidou's control over the new strain grew, his powers taking form bit by bit, and slowly the professor felt more confident of the strain's capabilities...and more sure of its current limits. Even then, Raidou could do nothing --- until she was found --- to improve on the strain itself.
But Raidou was also confident that it was only a matter of time before something changed.
Next time Raidou and Ryu had a conversation, he would have to convince the Dragon Faction leader to let him tag along --- it was an itch that needed to be scratched, and Raidou needed to stretch his legs. After all, the strain was no good unless it was used in its rightful place, for its rightful purpose.
In combat.
* * *
The successor to Field Marshal Gunther Van Helsing never was even half the man Gunther was, and Kally Lyedalla resented that fact well enough. Had Van Helsing's successor been more courageous and involved, General Khall would never have gotten as far as he did with his apparent dealings with Yamato, and Kally wouldn't have had suffered such a humiliating defeat a month ago. His refusal to see an urgent need for the UEG to step up its efforts to hunt Yamato Remnants down --- even though it was right in his face --- didn't help Kally's liking the man any.
Hence, Kally found herself in Jaburo again, with --- of all people --- Kouji Kamishima in tow, who she had kept in Jaburo simply to prevent the boy from going anywhere soon. Kally sighed sharply. It wasn't that she still hated him for what he did to Jerid; That was long past, and Kally realized soon enough that Kouji was more help to the UEG alive than dead. Plus, the boy had a point. However, Kouji had been one of the few left in this world who had seen combat with Camilla Diamond's Yamato Remnants faction first-hand, and Kally had a feeling they weren't done with him yet.
But at least the Alliance wasn't completely complacent --- Kally managed to keep up a correspondance with Bryan Murdoch the past month and, as he also saw the need for a stepping-up of efforts to deal with Yamato, Kally had promised him that she would do her best to get the UEG to co-ordinate their efforts with him. At this rate, though, Kally didn't think she'd get much done with Van Helsing's successor calling the shots in the Southwestern Theater. But she intended to try again. And again. Until the man saw what Kally was talking about.
To hell with him, Kally had eventually decided and, as she walked towards one of Jaburo's more remote storage vaults in the underground city headquarters, asking the Brigadier General for his approval to what Kally was about to retrieve was the last thing Kally had thought of doing. If he won't see reason, I'll have to make him see it. And I can't do that unless I'm on the front lines again.
And that means I must have that.
Eventually, Kally reached her destination, a storage hanger deep within the base perimeter with a pair of sturdy blast doors sealing it off, and she walked unceremoniously to the security terminal that was mounted between her and what she sought. Kally otherwise didn't waste time. She quickly lifted her hand to key in a security code at the terminal, leaned towards the small screen as it lit up with a blue hue to get her retinal signature scanned, and finally finished the authentication with her voice.
"Major Kally Lyedalla, 2nd Cavalry, Authorization Clearance Blue."
That was all she needed. The double doors clattered and opened up to either side of her, and Kally was soon exposed to the contents of the storage hanger: crates, boxes and other things not as well-packed as the former two, weapons, ammunition and spare parts. Most of the equipment was older-issued, some dating back to Kally's first days as a UEG Trooper in the War of Ages, and she recognized most things well enough. In fact, as Kally walked through the hanger and makeshift corridors formed by the stacked wooden crates, memories of those old days began returning to her.
Kally bit her lip wistfully. She wished things now were as simple as they were before, but that was wishful thinking at best.
But then again, Kally reminded herself, what she was seeking was also from those old days, when it had been far too dangerous for her to own that. Hence, when she finally found it, a large metallic casket box sealed only by a single slit, Kally recognized and remembered right away. She never thought she'd ever unseal it.
Neither did most of her friends.
"Has this world deteriorated so much as to finally need Billbine, Kally?" A middle-aged, grizzled voice called out, and Kally sharply turned around, holding her breath, as a grizzled, white-bearded and bald face she recognized appeared behind her, wearing a lab coat that confirmed his status as a scientist of the UEG. Kally softened at the sight of him. He knew what he was talking about.
"There's no other choice, Minos," Kally retorted coldly, and drew something from her belt with her right hand. The Dunbine's old Aura Sword glimmered in the faint light of the storage hanger as Kally turned back to the casket. "I can't sit idle any longer."
"I know. I heard Dunbine's been destroyed, and you need an armor..." Minos answered calmly. "But are you absolutely sure about Billbine? Once you unlock that casket, Kally, there'll be no turning back; You will either conquer Billbine completely, or die trying. There is no middle ground."
"You don't think I know that?"
"I just think you aren't ready for Billbine yet."
"I will have to be." Then, with one swift motion, Kally lifted her Aura Sword and sliced down at the casket in a single slash --- the tip of the sword cut into the single slit down the middle of the casket while, at the same time, the casket scanned a signal from Kally's Aura Sword. At that, the casket opened, and the walls swung aside...
To reveal a red-and-white, bird-like Aura Battler Armor standing behind it.
Kally's eyes narrowed at the memories returning to her --- Minos crossed his arms and shook his head at them. Billbine was exactly as Kally remembered it, from the twin mounted cannons on the back to the cable talons on the hands and feet, to the Aura Beam Rifle and Aura Sword...Kally sighed again, placing her arms behind her back. It was as if the UEG simply hadn't touched Billbine ever since the War of Ages. They simply didn't dare to.
"It's...beautiful."
"It's a horrible weapon, Kally." Minos interjected. Kally ignored him. "It was built with the Hunters in mind --- no, it is a Hunter. A Hunter controlled by man. Billbine is potentially as destructive as one, and if you can't conquer it, it'll destroy your soul, your Aura, and turn you into a compassionless Hunter itself!"
"Wrong, Minos."
A pause.
"It'll be controlled by a woman."
Billbine almost stared back at her as Kally took a step forward, entranced, and she reached a hand up to touch the armor. She could almost feel it. The sleekness, utmost speed and manueverability that Billbine was capable of, the deadly weapons, the almost violent aura power emanating from Billbine's very core...
They had warned her of Billbine's destructiveness to both its enemies and its own user, but Kally couldn't listen now. She needed it to defeat Yamato.
She needed Billbine to set things right.
"I suppose I can't stop you, after all." Minos finally agreed, and Kally's old Aura Sword fell from her hand to clang forgotten onto the ground. She would need the Dunbine's sword no longer. Kally nodded in approval. "So tell me, Kally...after you've controlled Billbine, if you're even capable of doing that..."
"I can. Don't worry about it."
"I don't doubt you. I'm just scared of Billbine." Minos continued, causing Kally to snort derisively. She would control Billbine and its immense Aura Power or perish trying --- she owed this world, she owed Yamato, she owed Jerid too much not to succeed completely. Kally began reaching forward, grabbing at the armor pieces, while looking around for a crate to hold the parts. "So, after you control Billbine, what do you intend to do first with it?"
Kally knew exactly what the answer was. Khall. If the UEG was going to have a chance of defeating Yamato, Khall had to go --- and Riley had to stay alive. He was too important to let Khall kill him.
"I'm going to find Christopher Riley again before Khall does."

Souffle was still Souffle --- charmingly predictable, and safe, in her plainly decorated, pink-painted room. Other than the episode in the arcade, life had been relatively normal for the girl; She hadn't seen any action, nor did she ever feel the need to get back into it. Like her guardians and other roommates, though, Souffle was nevertheless ready to defend her friends when trouble came knocking --- although, unlike Yumi, Souffle simply didn't like to think that trouble was on its way and left matters at that.
That day, Souffle had apparently taken up a new hobby --- sitting in her room cross-legged, in front of her workdesk and leafing through her DVD box casually, Souffle was also talking on the phone with someone. If Yumi cared to listen in, in fact, she would also recognize said person on the other side of the phone to be a very familiar someone.
Very, very familiar.
"Hi, Kouji!" Souffle grinned at his voice --- it had been much too long, indeed. "I knew you'd call! So, where are you? How've you been?"
* * *
Jaburo, South America
"I'm fine, Souffle-kun! It's great to hear your voice again!" Kouji Kamishima, God Gundam MS Trooper and street fighter not-so-extraordinaire, replied from the other end of the phone in his likewise plain-looking dormitory room. Of course, in Kouji's case, he didn't have a choice in the decorations; The UEG did, and they weren't about to take any suggestions of the sort from a guest and freelancer, of all people.
Not that Kouji complained, anyway. Not now. Kouji smiled. "Is Yumi-han and Wei-Li-han doing well?"
"Oh, they're doing great, boy," Souffle giggled, and her comment caused Kouji to wince a little. It had been too long since Yumi had patronized him so since three years past. "I'm just kidding, Kouji, I won't be that mean to you. Where are you now? I missed you!"
Kouji took a look around him, sitting on his bed, and sighed deeply. "Well, I'm in Jaburo right now, actually." Was the boy's answer. "No, I'm not working for the UEG..." A pause. Kouji shook his head wistfully. "Not really. They wouldn't think of taking me in, anyway, especially not Kally-han. It's a little boring, though. I'm already been here a month."
"A month?"
"Kally-han wanted to keep me around in case the UEG needed my help with Yamato and her." Kouji didn't mention her name, but Souffle got the hint and shuddered at the memory. Thus far, Kouji had still been the only known MS Trooper to have bested Camilla Diamond herself in straight combat --- and Souffle knew how unpleasant that fight had been well enough. "Believe me, it's not easy, Souffle-kun. If I could simply walk away and do something else, I would. In fact, I was thinking of coming over and paying you and Yumi-han a visit as soon as I asked Kally-han if I could leave..."
"Oh, really...!"
Kouji could've sworn he felt Souffle grin evilly on the other end. He sweatdropped. Kouji knew predictably what Souffle was going to ask next, and he was soon proven right in a literal second.
"Did you buy me the last Gyakuten Saiban 4 disc yet? Did you have any trouble finding it?"
Yes, same Souffle, Kouji chuckled and rolled his eyes mischeviously. Gyakuten Saiban 4 had also been one of the few things Souffle and Kouji found to have had in common with each other over the years. "Yes, Souffle-kun, I bought the last episodes. I'd mail it to you, but you know how the UEG is on civilian mail. They'd screen it five times before they'd ever let it ship, if they don't destroy it."
Souffle sighed on the other end. "I guess I see your point." Kouji bit his lip. "Well, hurry up and visit me then! I want to see those episodes! I want Naruhodou and Mayoi to get together!"
"Should I---"
"Don't," Was Souffle's response, and Kouji smiled warmly at it. If Kouji could 'escape' Jaburo, that was something to look forward to, at least; Souffle had been waiting for those last episodes for a metaphorical eternity, after all, and Kouji hated to disappoint Souffle any longer. "Even think of spoiling anything yet. I know you watched it already. And tell Fuunsaiki I said hi?"
"I will, I will. You take care now, alright, Souffle?"

"Agreed." Kally nodded, and her group added to the suppression with everything else they had left in the way of ammunition while backing off with Murdoch's forces. Soon, both forces were out of range of the base and the groups were once again safe. At that, Kally moved around, frowning, making the grim count of how many of her group had been lost in the overwhelming battle previous.
Despite that, Kally still hoped she didn't lose as much as she thought the group had suffered, although Jake and Elise were still missing and Riley was likely anywhere by now.

"General, my group's successfully gathered and are beginning full retreat. Let's make our exit as well, seeing as the UEG units that responded earlier are going to be doing that pretty soon," Kally quickly suggested on her comm channel and floated up beside Murdoch with her remaining Aura, and while she was ready for a last stand with Aura Sword drawn with finality, Kally didn't look like she wanted to do that yet. "These remnants can't follow us too far knowing that other nearby UEG and Alliance garrisons will be responding to this soon enough. Jaburo already knows that there's a base here. In time we can return and deal with this base, but I would suggest retreating while they cannot pursue."
Kally looked around for Jake and Elise; she lost sight of them, and while she knew Kouji and Fuunsaiki heard her well enough from their distance and were reacting likewise, she wasn't so sure about those two.
"Let's fall back with suppression fire. My group will follow your lead."

"Understood, General." Kally then reached into her armor, pulled out a flare, and fired it upwards, sending a burst of white smoke billowing above her --- it was a full retreat signal for her group, so that those whose communications arrays had been damaged could likewise know. Kally also began falling back as Murdoch suggested, and soon was well out of the Nephtises and Heavyarms' attack range.
"Major, we'll continue to assist you for another while, then we'll begin our own retreat. We'll also send a report to Jaburo for you regarding this turn of events. Godspeed, Major." One of the 253rd's officers reported.
"Very well." Kally answered, and knew it was time to leave. "Full retreat at once!"
And Kally and her group began moving towards Murdoch's forces' direction.

Kally sighed at Chris' own retreat out of the battlefield, and hoped that she would find him again. She wasn't done with the Lieutenant, by any means. "Well, there he goes," Kally muttered to herself wryly, shaking her head. "Don't go too far, Riley. You and I aren't finished yet."
Then she turned back to the battle at hand.
"All units, begin falling back towards my direction and regroup! Prepare for retreat!"

Kally turned, looked up, and immediately felt a lot better. The cavalry had arrived, after all --- a kick onto a Nephtis' midsection sent Kally flying away, and she used the reprieve to quickly establish contact.
"General, glad of you to make it, after all. Three Units from the UEG's 253rd Battalion Garrison, as well as the 180th Heavyguns and..." Kally rolled her eyes at that. "A unit from the 3rd Cavalry had also arrived to reinforce us, as did an unidentified unit not on any UEG or AOL signals. My unit will begin falling back and regrouping towards your current position. Can you lock onto my HUD?"

With the Jegans from the UEG garrison having distracted the Nephtises and Heavyarms units while the majority of her group began regrouping, Kally likewise began backing away, fending off nearby Nephtises with her Aura Sword and batting one away with the flat of the blade. The Nephtises and Titans were inflicting considerable casualties on the three units, but they've managed to buy time for Kally's group to allow themselves to begin retreating away from the surrounding Yamato remnant forces.
That was when she saw the unidentified contacts coming in.
"Who're they!? Where'd they come from?"
At the same time, the next wave of UEG garrison forces had also arrived from the south, this one containing a single larger force of Heavyguns that began reinforcing the remaining Jegans...and Kally's eyes blinked in disbelief as she saw the other UEG unit.
A unit of outdated Guntanks.
"What the..." Kally muttered, and the distraction almost gave a Nephtis the chance to decapitate her. Kally ducked and went back to fending off the enemies; if the UEG was indeed dumb enough to be using those even after the Massacre, Kally couldn't help their stupidity. "Those Guntanks are going to get slaughtered..."
And she began wondering if Murdoch's forces would ever get there at all.
