Sign up here for training, open to all. All pilots in this thread will be using: Model Number: NET-01 Code Name: Taurus Full Vernian Trainer TypeUnit Type: General purpose Training Mobile Suit Head Height: 16.8 meters Dry Weight: 6.6 tons Full Weight: 7.2 tons Manufacturer: Ellis Incom Construction: titanium alloy on movable frame Accommodations: Pilot only in linear seat 360 degree cockpit Power plant: 2572 kW Equipment and design features: sensors, 12,000 meters; shield, mounted on left forearm (x4 tube paint grenade launcher x2, two rounds per tube); spare hopper x2, mounted on rear hip armor Fixed armaments: beam funoodle x2, mounted in forearm shafts, hand carried in use Optional hand armaments: paint ball gun, 200 rounds per hopper Technical and Historical Notes: The NEF-22 Taurus Full Vernian (or TaurVer, as it’s more commonly known), one of the most successful MS of its day. While existing models did see regular updates and upgrades, its successors, the NEF-24 TaurVer Mk II and NEF-27 TaurVer Mk III saw little action, effectively ending the NEF line. While still more than able, the NEF-22 was gradually phased out in favor of next generation mobile suits such as the NEX-03 Engrish Robo and NEM-01 Big Billy Mk II. Rather than completely decommissioning the TaurVer series, Ellis Incom opted to convert 10 of the remaining 47 units to the new NET-01 Training model.

Small question though. What is a Beam Funoodle? Is it some sort of very low output Beam Saber?

The beam funoodle is a wonderful, semi-magical device developed by Ellis Incom for; you guessed it, training purposes. It looks and behaves just like a normal beam saber, but rather than slicing or other wise destroying its target, it simply knocks them over.
I'm not quite doe with the training regiment, but I'll try to have something by tomorrow (Monday).

No, it's my fault. Due to loads of somewhat unexpected school work, I'm going to have to push the start date back to June 13th or so.
Sorry.

not a problem for me. On a side note, Ellis, are you still working at the fast food death trap, Burger King?

First of all, yes Libra. After one year and two raises I'm making a whole $6.10 at the King.
Anyway, to promote.... RP literacy. The Ellis Incom Training ground has been nationalized, in a sense, and is now the Official MSPBZ Training Ground.
Training will begin soon.... maggots.

*Aries walks over his brother's body, paying it absolutely no mind, wearing his usual piloting gear, with his goggles around his neck.*
Aries still doesn't believe he's doing thiiiiiis...but it would appear as if ARIES is going to be conducting your training...Ahemdamnyouellisahem...
*He pushes his glasses up on his nose.*
Since Ellis is seriously unimaginative, Aries is going to handle this. We will be conducting training first off in melee and target shooting, out in the designated area. We'll work terrestrial combat for the moment, then move on to zero-G and space.
Now, the two theaters are insanely different, so don't any of you get cocky about being good right out of the gate. Since Aries is the best, Aries guesses he's been asked to do this just to make the bulk of you adequate. Aries doesn't even think most of you are gonna make that. This is gonna start out easy, and y'all're gonna think you're on top of the world, then it's gonna go straight to hell, Aries promises you.
You're not gonna fly faster than you ever have. You're not gonna be a better pilot just because of your machine. This program is designed to wake your dumb asses up. A good pilot is only good because he's A) one imaginative spaz, and B) intelligent enough to act on that imagination. You know why you're not good? It's because, quite seriously, you're not using enough of your brain.
And for some twist-of-fate reason, Aries is gonna force you to start using some of those damn neurons. So the stragglers better get in here, cuz' we're gonna mount up and seperate the men from the boys here.

Okay.... I hope it starts soon, as I am getting impatient.
On another note, can we use Live Rounds in this?

*kicks Van across the room.*
And we're gonna be for a while, because you spazzes are going to be shooting at things we do NOT PARTICULARILY WANT BLOWN UP? Y'think?!
*sighs.*
The second y'all signed up for this, y'waived your right to live ammunition. Now y'gotta earn it back.
*He folds his arms over his chest.*
Aries is gonna give five days for those who aren't signed up yet to do so. Official training is going to begin on Thursday, June 24th, and we'll start with target shooting. WITH PAINTBALLS.
*glares.*
