Name: Rip Velasquez Age: 29 Gender: Male Height: 5'10" Weight: 207lbs Eye Color: Brown Hair Color: Black Armor: None (formerly MS-14F Gelgoog Marine) Bio: Rip Velasquez has led a complicated history, from the 'upper class' of Mexico (if you can call it that), to the EGDF, to his current sordid state of affairs.
Rip Velasquez was brought up in the upper class of Mexico and was fairly well-educated. He, of course, displayed a great deal of aptitude as a soccer player, and his parents had always hoped that he would join a professional team and bring fame and fortune to the family.
However, in one of his minor leage team's victory celebrations, nearly all of them got drunk...and found themselves with EGDF recruitment papers the morning afterwards. And, unfortunately, once you've applied to be an EGDF member, drunk or not, there's no getting out.
So, due to a mistake, Rip became an EGDF soldier.
He would have been perfectly content to find a hole or corner inside the military and serve out his term in relative peace and quiet, yet he was singled out from his unit to become an MS Trooper when the project was just starting out.
Needless to say, Rip lodged several complaints with his superior officers.
Captain Velasquez was stationed on the Justice, an ancient creaking wreck of a ship, giving him even more reason to hate the military. He later tried to resign, the first MS Trooper to ever attempt to, and was quickly turned down. He kept pushing his requests up through channels, and was time and again turned down.
Later, the EGDF tradition of 'Fly As An MS Trooper, Die As An MS Trooper' came into existance. And worse, Velasquez heard that the Justice would be taking up patrol positions out and around Side Three, the farthest collection of Colonies from Earth, and would likely be on duty there for quite some time.
Finally, over a bottle of tequila, Captain Velasquez had finally decided that he had had enough.
Knowing that he'd never set one foot back on Earth one way or another, he suited up, proceeded to the bridge, killed the Justice's captain and bridge crew, then scuttled the ship by overloading the reactor, escaping with a few fellow defectors in a shuttle.
When they got to Side Three, they somehow decided to turn pirate instead of joining the burgeoning Colonial rebellion, and install Velasquez, the only MS Trooper, as leader. The pirate band was marginally successful, eventually calling themselves the Silver Wolves.
Unfortunately for Velasquez, his success only angered Earth even further.
After Velasquez held a passenger liner for ransom and kidnapped a few hapless travelers, including the android Two Liquer, the EG dispatched its best ship, the Savior, captained by their most capable naval commander, Admiral J.G. Leavenworth, with a Mobile Suit Trooper squadron headed by an up-and-coming commander, Lt. Blue Rideaux.
It was Rideaux and his squadron who eventually captured Velasquez, much to Admiral Leavenworth's dismay and disgrace, since the Savior unfortunately did not have a chance to engage the enemy before the MS Troopers did. Nearly all the Silver Wolves were captured and the hostages rescued.
Though Leavenworth had wanted Velasquez shot for high treason, desertion, insubordination, sedition, piracy, corruption, murder, destruction and theft of EG property, and a hoast of many other charges, the EG top brass merely had him thrown into the brig, and promised him that he would spend the rest of his natural life in one.
Velasquez knew the truth. Even now, he wasn't being allowed to resign from the EGDF.
He was an MS Trooper...and they were going to find some way to break his spirit and use him again. They simply needed time to find a way to do it.
Velasquez was transferred to several different ships and thrown in several different brigs...his latest, on the Mauritania...ironically, where his capturer, Lt. Blue Rideaux, is also stationed...

Name: Shizaka Karasu Age: 19 Gender: Female Height: 5'7" Weight: 136 lbs Eye Color: Green Hair Color: Black Armor: AMX-103 'Hamma Hamma' -http://mahq.net/mecha/gundam/zz/amx-103.htm (obviously, it isn't going to be as powerful as the stats may suggest, prototype technology and all. Only thing Shizaka can do with it that's 'better' than the series is she has more control over the claws) -Standard Trooper armor, in terms of appearance, but two sets of 'hands', the gloves her real hands are in, just below the 'claws' that can be remotely controlled.
Bio: Shizaka is a very strange, quiet girl. She remembers a little of her past, but doesn't share it with many. What is known about her, is that she was part of one of the more ambitious projects in the armor development program. Through various mental implantations, she is able to use newtype armor designs to their full potential, without actually being a newtype herself. However, for security reasons the quasi-psycommu was locked, and now only works with one armor, her own 'Hamma Hamma' (Double H, as she calls it) prototype.
Unfortunately for them, they didn't account for one side effect of the system. So long as the Hamma Hamma is within a certain distance, Shizaka can manipulate the psycommu-controlled claws. When she discovered this, she waited for just the right moment... and made her move. Activating the claws remotely during the debriefing after an exercise, catching security napping and making her escape with the armor. After being free for a short time, she heard about a group of resistance fighters organizing, and is seeking them out. Unfortunately, due mainly to distance concerns, she was unable to make early meetings, but is still attempting to seek out the resistance.
Personality wise, she seems sociable enough at first, but tends to manipulate whatever situation she's in to her favor. While she certainly hates the Government, she almost seems to be the type who rebels to gain power after the shooting's done.
