Zen sat on his bed, wide awake, on the alert. He never did sleep much. He didn't know why, guess he was just to anxious to lie down. Rachel was asleep in the ajoining room. It cost them an extra thousand for Zen to get this nice room for Rachel, no questions asked, but they had the money. They didn't know where it came from, but they had the money. The bank account was always full. Now Zen sat, staring at the floor, almost wishing something would happen. He turned on the tv, only to hear a slight thud from the other room.
As Zen walked towards the door, he saw light coming in from below the crack. Flashlight. Zen drew his pistols, and opened the door just slight enough for him to catch a glimpse of a man at the window. Zen stepped back into his room, waiting. The man was attaching something to the window, but Zen couldn't see what it was. The man made one hard push to swing away from the window, and one his ascent, he pushed a button on a remote in his hand. The glass shattered, sending shards into Rachels room. Rachel woke up and was screaming. Now!
Zen threw open the door to find 3 men standing there. He already had his pistols raised, and began firing. He hit two of them with 4 shots each, as they fell backwards through the open window. Zen dived behind the bed, pulling Rachel down with him. The third man opened fire. Full auto. Probably an MP5 Zen thought to himself. He heard the footsteps of a second man drop into the room. Zen's hand formed a ball once more, but this time with lare spikes protruding from it's surface. He paused, waiting for the first man to stop firing. Rachel was curled up in a ball, and Zen could see she had been cut more than once. As the first man stopped firing, Zen stood up fast, and swang his right arm around, firing his one pistol with his left. The large mace, now attached to a chain, dug a spike into the first man's head, as Zen fired at the second man. Four shots to the chest, as the man fell to join his friends. The other man lie twitching on the floor. Zen began to reform his hand, as he looked over at Rachel.
"How bad are you hurt." Zen bent down to examine the cuts from the glass.
"Not bad. There's only a few cuts."
For once she was right. But still, Zen thought, I should get her to a doctor to make sure. Zen holstered his pistols and bent down to pick her up. As he began to walk out, he heard more men break down the door to hi room. One of the doors connecting the rooms was still shut, and the other, while riddled with bullets, was also closed. He heard the men talking, and walked into the bathroom.
"Now Rachel, take this." Zen handed Rachel one of his pistols. "If anyone but me opens that door, shoot 'em. Don't worry, nothing bad is gonna happen, this is just a precaution. You understand?"
Rachel nodded her head.
"Alright, now keep quiet, and don't leave this bathroom until I come and get you."
Zen stepped out of the bathroom, and closed the door behind him. He could tell the men heard it, because the light from under the crack was it's brightest now. He stepped towards the door, and put his ear up against it to hear them.
"Was that them leaving?"
"No, those doors are thicker. Make a deeper sound when shut. I think that was the bathroom door."
"Should we just go through? What if that was just to throw us off?"
"Well, go see if you can hear anything."
He heard three distinct voices, and now footsteps toward the door. Zen remained completely silent, as his hands formed into massive broadswords. He could hear the man closest to the door still.
"I don't hear anything..... No you go through!.... Fine, just cover me will ya.....I'm gettin to it!"
He heard the man's hand touch the doorknob. At that moment, Zen brought a hand down vertically, slicing through the door and the man's arm.
"AAAAAAAAAHHH! MY ARM! MY ARM! LOOK AT MY...."
Zen stabbed the second blade through what remained of the door and into the man's chest. The other two began to open fire. Zen pulled the dead man in front of him, using him and hs bullet-proof vest as a shield. Zen then went behind the wall, sticking the body out to make it seem like hes was still in the door way. The men stopped, and he heard them reloading their guns. Zen threw the body at the man to his left, knocking him on the floor. He then thrust the blade on his right arm into the man on his right's face, then stabbed his left arm blade throught the back of the dead body and into the chest of the man underneath. The man to his right fell with a thud to the floor. Zen let his hands re-grow as he went for Rachel.
"Are you alright?" Zen asked as he threw the door open. The bleeding seemed to be getting worse, so Zen knew he had to hurry. He grabbed Rachel and carried her out the door. He then ran to the stairs, and took them up.
"Why are you going to the roof?"
"There are probably more men waiting for us down stairs. We've gotta get you to a hospital."
Zen opened the door that had roof printed on it in bold red letters. He stopped for a moment once outside, and looked around. Clear. He ran to the edge, and looked down to see the street below. He looked across and saw a bill-board one the roof of the building across from them. Zen backed up about 20 feet, and his arm began unraveling into a chain with a hook at the end of it. The chain kept growing longer.
"Now look Rachel, I need you to get on my back, and hold on as tight as you possibly can."
Rachel shifted her wait so she was on his back, and tightened her grip so hard the she almost caused Zen to choke.
"Okay, now hold on."
Zen began running as fast as he could. Once he reached the edge he swung his arm out and jumped as far as he could. The chain flew towards the bill-board, and Rachel beagn to scream. Zen felt them start to fall, and looked at the end of the chain. It wrapped it's end around one of the legs of the bill-board. Zen let began to let out a sigh, but then saw the wall rapidly approaching. Zen began to form a round shield out of his other arm, and braced to accept the blow. They crashed into the wall at a high speed.
"ARGH!" Zen let out a cry of pain. Damn, I think I broke my arm. Won't heal for a while, used up to much of my power making this chain. Gotta get Rachel to a hospital. Zen began reforming the chain into his arm, pulling them up towards the roof.
"Are you alright Zen? Is your arm broken?"
"I'll be fine. Don't worry, just hold on."
They reached the roof, and Rachel got off his back. His arm hurt a lot, but Zen knew it would heal eventually. He tried to remeber where there was a hospital in this place.
