Ace, I have no idea what's going on in your life. In truth, I barely know you. But through the tiniest sliver of contact I've had with you, I know, and I say know without a doubt in my mind, that you and your brother are the kindest, most honorable people I've had the honor of knowing.
And I don’t say this just because we’re all so worried about you. I say it from the bottom of my heart, I’ve said it before, and I’ll continue to say it for the rest of my life.

NM, where you guys at, exactly?
Aries has something of an idea of what's going on with Ace right now.
This is gonna sound hokey, but the old peoples of the world called what Acey is going through the "crazy time". Where something traumatic happens, and the person who winds up having it done to them starts looking for a chance to change. This is also gonna sound scary, but right now, the process has begun where the old Ace is going to die, and a new Ace is gonna be created.
Like those periods where something happens to you, and you know you're smarter or stronger or different now because of it. That's what those are, and crazy time is essential for that kind of transformation. It's the only place it can be done.
Unfortunately, some people can take that the wrong way, seeing that their old self has to die. That's the decision that ultimately leads to nearly every suicide.
Now, there is a way to prevent that. When people see somebody else is going into crazy time, their immediate reaction is to pull back, hope they don't get their normal lives infected by this kind of thing.
Aries's first bit of advice to you is NOT to pull back. Keep contact with your brother, every day if you have to.
If he hasn't sorted it out afterwards, then y'may need some serious help. Like what the old peoples would call a shaman. It sounds paganistic, but all a shaman is is a person who can guide someone's spirit through things like crazy time, and can be found in this day and age. There are some professions that are immortal to humanity. For men, these are the King, the Warrior, the Lover, and the Magician. These are archetypes based way down in the bottom levels of our brains. They're a series of behavioral patterns and other such things that we can train our brains to access, and use, but only if our own psyches are properly trained to be able use our brains to access them.
Priests are supposed to be able to do guide people through crazy time, like shamans, an attribute of the Magician archetype, unfortunately, not many can. To make matters worse, there are very few shamans like that in the world.
Aries already knows what's passing through your head, NM. But if you don't think you can do it, don't try. Getting somebody though crazy time is a very taxing experience. You've just got to control so much, not only yourself.
Aries doesn't really know for certain right now, but by August, he thinks he'll be able to help. Stay with him. Talk to him, even if he doesn't talk back. Help him understand what he's going through, and do what you can to keep him in that position until he hacks his way though it, or you get somebody that can help him.

Sorry I didn't tell you this earlier, but I printed out the thread yesterday and gave it to Ace. He's getting better slowly. He should be his old self in a couple of weeks.

Well Ace, after what your brother had said, I can understand why you're in so much pain. And Steel, this kind of pain does take weeks for someone to get rid of, and yet, never will be fully healed.

*smiles* It's ok, Steel. I'm sorry I didn't get to add anything to this before it got run off, though. I don't know Ace very well, but the accquaintance that I do have with him is pleasant; he is fair, honest, and wonderful young man and I hope he gets better. It was very thoughtful of you to do this NM.

Whoo hoo, Aries has been the most helpfuuuuul. *knows he hasn't.* We ALL knew that, Aries... *glares at Steel* You didn't know that? *back to the subject at hand* Sorry I didn't get my 'get well soon' in earlier Ace, but you were one of the few people I respected around here, and heck, you gave me some pretty good memories from this place. Glad to hear you're improving, man. Just keep on getting better, we're all routing for ya I'm sure...

Oh, about as soon as I came, a year and a half ago. Anyway, Ace is much better, and is planning on dragging himself in here to thank you all sometime this week. And if he doesn't, then I'll drag him here.

Good, I was too freaked out to post before. When I wish someone well, they seem to go the opposite way so........Ace, I hope you feel like crap!!
(Please everyone know that if I said, "Hope you're feeling better", he might keel over, so please don't hate me.)

(Damn it, why don't I check Announcements more often?!)
Anyway, I'm really very sorry that I wasn't able to post on the message NM printed out earlier. If you read this in the near future, Ace, than I'm gland that you're beginning to pull through. I can't pretend that I fully understand what you're going through, but I can try.
When my parents got divorced a few months ago, my dad was a total wreck. He too could not sleep or eat for weeks and was prone to bouts of crying. The best I could do was hold him and support him, eventually he pulled through.
I hope you have all the support you need, I know we're all pulling for you.
